Ferragamo has appointed Yigit Turhan as its new Chief Brand Officer as the luxury fashion house continues efforts to strengthen its global brand and improve business performance.
Turhan, who previously held senior marketing positions at Valentino and Gucci, will be based in Milan and oversee several key brand functions including marketing, communications, visual merchandising, customer relationship management, and brand image strategy.
According to the company, Turhan will report directly to James Ferragamo.
Before joining Ferragamo, Turhan most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer at Valentino, a role he held since 2023. Prior to that, he spent several years at Gucci working in brand strategy and marketing roles.
Industry analysts see the appointment as part of Ferragamo’s broader strategy to revitalize the brand and strengthen its position in the competitive luxury fashion market.
The Italian fashion company has been working to improve demand for its classic product lines after facing several years of uneven financial performance. Earlier this week, Ferragamo reported a slight decline in first-quarter revenue, continuing a trend of reduced sales over recent years.
Luxury fashion brands globally are currently facing changing consumer trends, economic uncertainty, and increasing competition as they work to attract younger and more digitally engaged customers.
Experts say experienced brand and marketing executives are becoming increasingly important for luxury companies aiming to modernize their image while maintaining their heritage and exclusivity.
With experience from two major global fashion houses, Turhan is expected to play a key role in Ferragamo’s ongoing transformation and brand-building efforts.
