Qatar Airways has announced the launch of new flight services to Caracas in Venezuela and Bogotá in Colombia starting from July 22, 2026, further expanding its network across the Americas.
The airline said the new routes will strengthen connectivity between the Middle East and Latin America, while also improving travel options for passengers connecting through Doha.
With this expansion, Qatar Airways will become the first Gulf airline to operate flights to Venezuela and the first carrier from West Asia to directly connect both Caracas and Bogotá.
The airline plans to operate two weekly flights on the route, with services scheduled every Wednesday and Sunday. Passengers traveling from South America will be able to connect through Hamad International Airport to major destinations across Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.
According to the airline, the new services are part of its broader strategy to strengthen global connectivity and expand its presence in international markets. The addition of Caracas and Bogotá increases Qatar Airways’ Americas network to 16 destinations.
Qatar Airways first entered the South American market in 2010 with flights to São Paulo, Brazil, and has continued to expand operations in the region over the years.
Industry analysts believe the new routes could improve travel and business connectivity between South America, the Gulf region, and Asia. Currently, many travelers between these regions rely on transit hubs in Europe or North America, making Doha an increasingly important alternative hub for international travel.
The airline also stated that demand for international transit travel and growing economic links between the Gulf and Latin America continue to support expansion opportunities.
Qatar Airways expects its global network to exceed 160 destinations during the 2026 summer travel season, reinforcing Doha’s role as a major international aviation hub.
