Vercel is showing strong growth as artificial intelligence continues to transform how applications are created. The company’s CEO, Guillermo Rauch, recently indicated that the company is preparing for a potential initial public offering (IPO), supported by rapid revenue expansion driven by AI-generated apps.
Speaking at a recent technology conference in San Francisco, Rauch highlighted how the rise of AI tools has made it easier for anyone—not just developers—to build applications. He explained that while only a limited number of people could create and deploy apps in the past, today almost anyone can do so with the help of AI.
This shift has significantly benefited Vercel, which provides tools and infrastructure for hosting and deploying websites and applications. As more users and AI systems create apps, the demand for platforms like Vercel has increased.
The company’s financial growth reflects this trend. Its annual recurring revenue has grown rapidly, rising from around $100 million in early 2024 to approximately $340 million by early 2026. This strong performance has positioned the company as a potential candidate for a public listing.
Rauch noted that Vercel is already operating with the mindset and discipline of a public company. While he did not provide a specific timeline for the IPO, he stated that the company is becoming more prepared each day.
The broader market for initial public offerings has been uncertain recently, especially in the technology sector. Concerns about the impact of AI on traditional software businesses have slowed down new listings. However, industry observers believe that once major AI-focused companies enter the public market, investor interest could return quickly.
Vercel is also betting heavily on the rise of AI agents—automated systems that can create and deploy software. According to Rauch, a growing portion of applications on the platform is already being generated by these AI agents, highlighting a major shift in how software is developed.
He added that AI could make it easier for businesses to build custom tools instead of purchasing existing software. As a result, more applications will need reliable hosting platforms, which Vercel aims to provide.
The company currently operates in a competitive space alongside major players like Cloudflare and Amazon Web Services. Despite the competition, Vercel believes the growing demand for AI-powered applications will continue to expand the overall market.
With increasing adoption of AI and rising demand for digital infrastructure, Vercel’s leadership sees strong long-term potential, positioning the company for a possible public debut in the near future.
